About the project

The Meyboom student residence in the heart of Brussels

The 19th-century Meyboom building, located in the centre of Brussels, will be renovated to become a student campus. The design of this project has been entrusted to LOW architects. This iconic building will be transformed into a dynamic, forward-looking space, combining student accommodation, auditoriums, a sports hall and communal areas. The building will thus be reborn and once again become the beating heart of the city.

The Meyboom student residence will offer a unique living environment, combining comfort, design and sustainability. Comprising 219 units, including 90 student rooms with private bathrooms, 129 student studios with bathrooms and kitchenettes, 11 communal kitchens, a caretaker’s flat and various communal areas, it will be the perfect place for student life to flourish.

The ground floor will be transformed into a lively meeting place, where the campus and the city will merge. Strategically placed public functions will create an open and accessible atmosphere. Thus, the campus will not only be an isolated educational institution, but a dynamic link in Brussels life.

One of the most remarkable transformations will be the conversion of the covered atrium into an open patio with green spaces, which will significantly improve the quality of life on campus.

A concierge will ensure the permanent management and supervision of the site.

The project has been granted a final, enforceable building permit. The pre-sale phase will begin on 17 October 2025. Construction work is scheduled to begin in February 2026 and be completed by June 2028 at the latest.
